Energy Saving Devices

Power Link Technology (PLT) Energy Saving Device (ESD) is microprocessor controlled energy saving unit designed for all type of gas discharge lamps (fluorescent, HID, sodium and mercury). ESD provide single or two level energy saving and multi-duration energy saving mode.

Features:

  • Microprocessor controlled ESD
  • Design for all type of fluorescent, HID, sodium

and mercury lamp

  • 2 level energy saving mode. ESD can switch to

by-pass, level 1 or level 2 energy saving mode

depends on pre-program timing.

  • 5 minutes warm up period
  • 40 minutes lamp check period
  • Auto current sensing, back to warm up period

when load current exceed 1.5A

  • Real time clock, Multi energy saving period
  • Auto by-pass when ESD is faulty
  • Auto by-pass when load current too high
  • Auto by-pass when grid supply voltage too low
  • Auto by-pass when ESD internal temperature too high
  • LED status lights indicate ESD working condition
  • Manual isolation and by-pass switch

Principle of Operation:

PLT energy saving devices is designed for energy saving for all type of gas discharge lamps (fluorescent, HID sodium and mercury).

ESD will supply high voltage to lights when turn on. After 5 minutes warm up period, ESD will switch to energy saving mode. Energy saving level will depend on pre-program timing. ESD can switch to either no save, level 1 or level 2 energy saving mode. Multi level and multi duration energy saving mode is done by pre-programming the ESD operation timing. ESD real time clock uses crystal controlled, which can be programmed to operate in no save, saving level 1 and saving level 2 at any 24 hour period.

ESD unit monitor grid supply voltage and load current. When it detects the load current increase of more than 1.5A and within the maximum load current limit, ESD will switch to warm up mode before activating saving mode. ESD will

switch to higher saving level automatically when supply voltage exceeds 240 volts. Lamp test function is included for routine lamp replacement. When lamp test switch is depressed, energy saver will only switch to dimming mode after 40 minutes checking period.

ESD unit has an internal monitoring circuit. The monitoring results are display on front panel LED status lights. The status lights indicate the working condition of ESD. ESD will switch to by -pass mode when fault occur in ESD, e.g. ESD is over loaded (load current higher than ESD capacity), grid supply voltage too low or ESD internal temperature too high. ESD is equipped with a manual isolation and by-pass switch.
